Job description
- Run and improve the day-to-day IT function
- Manage one internal IT technician
- Improve ticket triage, prioritisation, and communication
- Manage external IT suppliers, MSPs, and specialist partners
- Support Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, networking, and core infrastructure
- Provide hands-on technical support where needed
- Support system updates, changes, and service improvements
- Improve IT processes, reporting, and user confidence
- Ensure new systems and changes are ready to move into BAU support

We are a long-established, family-owned business based in Petersfield, Hampshire, with an onsite working model and a salary of up to £70,000 plus benefits. We have grown significantly in recent years, including through acquisition, and are expected to reach close to £50m turnover this year. This is a hands-on IT Operations Manager role with real ownership, working closely with our CFO, one internal technician, external IT suppliers, and the Technology and Transformation team where BAU IT and wider business change overlap.
Requirements
- Experience in IT operations, IT service management, infrastructure management, service delivery, or senior IT support
- Experience in IT operations or senior IT support management
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID
- General networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, WAN, and LAN
- Experience managing suppliers, MSPs, or contractors
- Experience improving IT processes, service levels, and user experience
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Useful experience with AWS, NetSuite or wider ERP systems, ITIL, Microsoft certifications, or working alongside transformation/project teams
