Job description
We're working with a prestigious organisation seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to help build and operate a modern cloud-native platform that underpins AI, automation and integration services across a large-scale enterprise environment.
This is an opportunity to join a greenfield engineering programme where you'll play a key role in shaping a Kubernetes platform built on Microsoft Azure using modern DevOps and platform engineering practices. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative engineering team, helping deliver a secure, scalable and highly reliable platform that will support a major strategic transformation programme.
The Role
You'll be responsible for building, operating and continuously improving a shared Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) platform used by application, AI and integration engineering teams. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll help deliver a secure, scalable and highly reliable platform through automation, Infrastructure as Code and GitOps.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build, operate and enhance Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Develop and support GitOps CI/CD pipelines
- Manage Kubernetes networking, service mesh and gateway technologies
- Support observability using Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry
- Maintain platform security, reliability and automation
- Participate in incident response and continuous platform improvement
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to drive platform best practice
Requirements
You'll have strong commercial experience with:

Kubernetes and cloud-native platform engineering

Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Terraform and Infrastructure as Code

Docker, GitOps and CI/CD pipelines

Linux and Bash scripting

Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry

Kubernetes networking and service mesh technologies

Production platform operations and troubleshooting Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

ArgoCD or Flux

Kafka or Redpanda

Helm and Kustomize

Python automation

Policy as Code (OPA/Gatekeeper or Kyverno)
