Job description

  • Design, build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across GCP and AWS
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Create and maintain Ansible playbooks for automation and configuration management
  • Build resilient, secure and highly available cloud environments
  • Work closely with development teams to support application deployments
  • Improve automation, monitoring and operational efficiency
  • Optimise cloud performance and spend across multiple environments
  • Support incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Implement networking, security and disaster recovery best practices
  • Produce clear technical documentation and infrastructure standards

Requirements

  • Commercial experience as a Cloud Engineer, Systems Engineer, Platform Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Good commercial experience with AWS
  • Terraform experience is essential
  • Ansible automation experience
  • Linux administration experience
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Bash and/or Python scripting experience
  • Cloud networking experience, including VPCs, IAM, load balancers and routing
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD
  • Strong understanding of cloud security and best practices
  • Experience with GKE and/or Amazon EKS is highly desirable
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana or CloudWatch is highly desirable
  • Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux is highly desirable
  • Experience with service mesh technologies is highly desirable
  • Experience in PCI DSS or regulated financial environments is highly desirable
  • Experience with FinOps or cloud cost optimisation is highly desirable
  • Experience with ELK Stack or centralised logging is highly desirable
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning is highly desirable
  • Professional AWS or GCP certifications are highly desirable

This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite, offering the chance to work across both Google Cloud Platform and AWS on mission-critical financial services platforms.
