Job description

  • Validate data and chase down root causes when issues arise.
  • Help understand and contribute to the migration from an Informatica-driven Data Warehouse to a Microsoft Fabric architecture.
  • Ensure existing data supplied to the business is matched accurately, or explain why it has changed.
  • Work across multiple source systems, including ERP platforms, data warehouses, and Lakehouse pipelines.
  • Investigate data quality issues and pipeline failures in a calm, methodical way.
  • Read activity logs and error output to isolate the actual failure point.
  • Support transformation logic and data processing across source systems and pipelines.
  • Collaborate with the data team on a data platform project for a leading manufacturer in the West Midlands.

  • REST, We are TXP Technology, seeking an accomplished SQL/Data Analyst to join us on a data platform project for a leading manufacturer in the West Midlands. This is an initially 6-week contract with likely extension, offered at up to £400 per day outside IR35. The role is hybrid based in Dudley, West Midlands, and we need someone who can travel as required and start in August 2026. Requirements

  • Strong hands-on SQL skills in T-SQL.
  • Comfortable adapting to other database languages such as Oracle/PL-SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Demonstrable experience reading and debugging other peoples queries and code, not just writing from scratch.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including incremental loads, watermarking, slowly changing dimensions, and staging vs. curated layers.
  • Comfortable investigating pipeline failures in orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, SSIS, or similar.
  • Experience working with ERP or legacy source systems such as JDE, QAD, SAP, or Dynamics/Axapta is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical and root cause analysis mindset.
  • Familiarity with Python or PySpark for notebook-based transformation logic is a plus, not essential.
  • Experience with Informatica PowerCenter, IICS, or similar is a plus.
  • Must be able to start in August 2026 and travel to Dudley on a hybrid basis.
