Job description
- Support secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments
- Assist with Microsoft Azure administration and cloud platform operations
- Maintain Windows Server and Linux environments
- Support virtualisation platforms and enterprise hosting solutions
- Work with Kubernetes and OpenShift container platforms
- Monitor system performance, availability, and resilience
- Support incident management, troubleshooting, and service improvements
- Contribute to automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell
- Support secure infrastructure changes, documentation, and operational processes

- Windows, We are supporting a defence client on the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), a landmark international defence initiative developing the future combat air system. We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Secure Digital Platform (SDP) team on a 12-month contract based in Reading with a hybrid working pattern of three days per week on site. This is an opportunity to work on highly sensitive MOD and aerospace programmes, helping build and support the secure digital infrastructure that underpins mission-critical defence capability. Requirements
- Experience within defence, aerospace, MOD, government, or other secure environments
- Experience supporting Windows Server and/or Linux platforms
- Understanding of cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls
- Exposure to VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or container technologies
- Interest in automation, DevOps practices, and modern platform engineering
- Active SC Clearance is required
