Job description
- Seeking a hands-on IT Support Specialist to provide end-user support across our warehouse and office environments.
- This role will serve as the primary technical resource supporting warehouse technology including PCs, printers, RF scanners, handheld devices, Wi-Fi connectivity, and user workstations while assisting with basic network administration and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Deskside or Service Desk professional looking to expand their skills into networking and infrastructure engineering.
- The ideal consultant is customer-focused, enjoys solving technical issues, and has experience supporting warehouse or distribution environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide desktop and deskside support for warehouse and office users.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications.
- Deploy, image, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Support warehouse technology including: RF Scanners, Scan Guns, Lift Devices, Warehouse PCs, Label and Thermal Printers, Barcode Printers, Mobile Devices.
- Troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity and warehouse wireless devices.
- Provide first-level network troubleshooting for switches, wireless infrastructure, VPN connectivity, and general network issues.
- Assist with basic network administration and infrastructure support.
- Monitor network performance and escalate complex issues when appropriate.
- Manage IT assets and equipment lifecycle.
- Support Active Directory user accounts, permissions, and access requests.
- Assist with VMware virtualization administration and troubleshooting.
- Manage ticket intake, prioritization, and resolution through Jira and other IT ticketing platforms.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles.
- Support warehouse operational technology and business-critical systems.
- Assist with IT infrastructure projects and technology deployments.
- Provide after-hours support as needed.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a desktop support, deskside support, or service desk environment.
- Strong troubleshooting experience supporting Windows workstations, laptops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Experience supporting warehouse hardware including RF scanners, handheld devices, warehouse printers, and wireless devices.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including: TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi Troubleshooting, Basic Switching and Connectivity Troubleshooting.
- Experience using Jira or similar ticket management platforms.
- Basic understanding of VMware virtualization.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the desire to continue learning infrastructure and networking technologies.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical teams.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environments.
- Experience with Active Directory user administration.
- Exposure to enterprise networking environments.
- Experience supporting warehouse wireless infrastructure.
- Familiarity with enterprise printing solutions.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
