Job description
You're not migrating servers - you're designing how companies operate their critical infrastructure for the next decade. At T-Systems Austria, you work on real migration projects for customers from regulated industries, with real hyperscalers, modern IAC tooling and a team that takes technical depth seriously.
- Implement cloud migrations end-to-end: lift & shift, replatforming, and modernizing workloads on AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Design and implement cloud architectures - hybrid, multi-cloud and with a view to regulatory requirements (GDPR, BSI C5, NIS2)
- Analyze existing infrastructures and derive reliable technical solutions
- Actively support customer projects and workshops - from discovery to go-live
- Build, operate, and manage cloud environments as infrastructure as code
- Ensuring knowledge transfer: documentation, internal reviews, onboarding of new colleagues
- Work closely with solution architects and senior consultants
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering or cloud consulting
- Practical hands-on experience with at least one hyperscaler: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Proven experience with cloud migrations or cloud deployments
- Solid basic knowledge in classic infrastructure: network, compute, storage
- German C1 and English B2 - for independent communication with customers and international teams
- University degree (FH/university, IT-related sector) or comparable professional experience - both are equivalent
Language and educational attainment are important criteria, but not a dealbreaker: Candidates with an exceptional technical profile are expressly encouraged to apply anyway. Good to have
- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
- Container technologies: Docker and/or Kubernetes (including Helm, AKS, EKS, GKE)
- CI/CD experience: GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions or comparable pipeline tools
- Open source technologies: Linux Foundation ecosystem, cnCF projects (e.g. ArgoCD, Flux, Prometheus)
- Keycloak or comparable IAM solutions (OIDC/OAuth2)
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks: GDPR, BSI C5, NIS2, DORA
- FinOps basics and cloud cost management
Beneficial
- Industry experience in regulated industries: public sector, defense, energy, healthcare or financial services
- Certifications in public cloud solutions: AWS (e.g. Solutions Architect), Microsoft Azure (AZ-104/AZ-305), Google Cloud (ACE/PCA) or T-Cloud Public - active or in preparation
- Experience with SAP on cloud infrastructure or sovereign cloud environments
Benefits & conditions
- Direct entry into customer projects - no bench time during training
- Structured development path: Cloud Engineer * Senior Cloud Engineer * Solution Architect * Principal
- Certification budget for AWS, Azure, GCP, and T-Cloud - including audit fees
- Hybrid working model: Vienna office and home office can be flexibly combined
- Agile way of working and modern tool landscape
- International network of colleagues within T-Systems/Deutsche Telekom Group
