Job description
You will work closely with the Data Office, technical teams, architects, and external partners to design a sovereign, open-source, interoperable platform that supports advanced analytics, data science, and regulatory compliance.
Your Responsibilities
As a Solution Architect, you will play a key role in defining the target architecture of the organization's Data Platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
Solution Architecture & Platform Design
- Design and evolve the Storage Layer and Lakehouse architecture of the enterprise Data Platform.
- Define scalable, secure, and production-ready architecture for modern data platforms.
- Ensure interoperability between the Storage Layer and other platform components, including:
- Data Ingestion Layer
- Core Systems
- Front-End Systems
- Data Science Workbench
- Business Intelligence platforms
- Data Service Gateway
- Secure Processing Environment
- Bridge enterprise architecture with detailed technical implementation.
- Contribute to the overall target architecture and long-term technology roadmap.
Data Platform & Lakehouse Architecture
- Evaluate, recommend, test, and implement technologies supporting:
- Data Lake & BLOB Storage
- Lakehouse Architecture
- Relational Databases (SQL/RDBMS)
- NoSQL Databases
- Data Warehousing solutions
- Design and implement a modern Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Define strategies for:
- Data ingestion
- Data integration
- Data processing
- Data consumption
- Data dissemination
- Data archiving
- Backup and disaster recovery
- Ensure the platform supports multiple data domains, including healthcare, environmental, and animal health data.
Technical Leadership
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams.
- Review technical designs and implementation approaches.
- Promote engineering best practices and architectural standards.
- Proactively identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support implementation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and architectural deliverables.
Security, Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- GDPR
- NIS2
- Data Governance Act
- European Health Data Space (EHDS)
- Information Security Committee (CSI) requirements
- Collaborate closely with the Data Office on metadata management and data governance initiatives.
- Ensure security, privacy, traceability, and governance are embedded within the platform architecture.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, data engineers, DevOps engineers, security specialists, and business stakeholders.
- Act as the technical point of contact for architecture decisions.
- Work closely with external technology partners and vendors.

Requirements
Must-Have
- Minimum 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Solution Architecture

- Proven experience designing and implementing modern enterprise Data Platforms.
- Strong experience with Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience designing scalable, interoperable, secure, and production-ready platforms.
- Experience with open-source data ecosystems and vendor-neutral architectures.
- Experience working with Kubernetes-based Data Science environments.
- Experience in highly regulated environments., * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Languages

Education
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
