Job description
- We act as the senior escalation point for complex Linux and HPC issues.
- We lead deployments of new infrastructure and compute platforms.
- We deliver technical projects from planning through to implementation and handover.
- We evaluate and pilot new technologies and platform improvements.
- We optimise Linux environments for performance, scalability, and availability.
- We support automation and configuration management initiatives.
- We work closely with global teams on upgrades and infrastructure enhancements.
- We maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- We participate in the on-call support rota and continuous service improvement activities.
- We mentor junior team members and communicate technical solutions to stakeholders.

- DevOps, We are an ambitious, technology-driven company seeking a Senior HPC Engineer to join our high-performing global infrastructure and platform team supporting enterprise-scale HPC and Linux environments. This is an onsite role in Sussex with a salary of £75,000 to £85,000. It offers the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects, emerging technologies, and next-generation compute platforms in a fast-paced technical environment. Requirements
- We have 5+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience, ideally within HPC environments.
- We have strong commercial experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
- We have experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or GitLab.
- We have containerisation experience, including Docker and orchestration technologies.
- We have scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Perl.
- We have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- We have experience managing technical projects and working within ITSM environments.
- It is desirable that we have experience with Kubernetes, OpenStack, or CI/CD tooling.
- It is desirable that we have cloud infrastructure and virtualisation exposure.
- It is desirable that we have knowledge of GPUs, RAID technologies, and HPC clustering.
- It is desirable that we hold relevant Linux or ITIL certifications.
