Job description

  • We contribute to the full product development lifecycle from requirements capture through to verification and delivery.
  • We define and document system-level requirements and functional specifications.
  • We break down high-level customer and technical requirements into detailed functional use cases.
  • We support system architecture development for RF and communications-based products.
  • We conduct technical design reviews and provide engineering input throughout development phases.
  • We work on integrated system solutions involving radio communications, IP networking, VoIP, and associated technologies.
  • We ensure our systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and technical requirements.
  • We produce detailed technical documentation including system diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • We support verification, validation, and integration activities across hardware and software environments.
  • We identify technical risks and support resolution activities throughout projects.
  • We contribute to system commonality and compatibility across product ranges.
  • We support future product and technology planning activities.
  • We provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers.
  • We work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, software, hardware, and product functions.

Requirements

  • We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or someone in a similar systems-focused engineering role.
  • We require a degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
  • We need a strong background in radio communications, RF systems, or related communications technologies.
  • We require a good understanding of IP networking technologies.
  • We need experience working with VoIP systems and network-based communications.
  • We require a strong understanding of the full product development lifecycle.
  • We need the ability to translate requirements into functional system behaviours and use cases.
  • We require strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • We need experience producing technical system documentation.
  • We require an understanding of systems integration and verification activities.
  • We require eligibility to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance.
  • Cyber security or cyber resilience experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Exposure to hardware design and/or software engineering would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of wider network technologies would be beneficial.
