Design, implement and troubleshoot high-functioning systems that involve complex technical network and server infrastructures with appropriate security and availability concerns. Work includes complex network infrastructure design and changes for interfacing new or upgraded systems while forecasting future network operational needs. Work includes installing, troubleshooting, configuring hardware and software in a WAN environment. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving LAN and client-server data and communications problems involving complex network equipment configuration and maintenance requiring incumbents to understand various network operating systems and communication protocols. Serves as a senior consultant and subject matter expert, provides consultation to users and staff for the most complex problems. The work is of a diversified nature that generally involves multiple unrelated steps. The position involves functional leadership responsibilities as a senior consultant or project leader.   1. Implements and supports the TS Director's goals/visions for the Technical Services department of HS-EBIT by collaborating with the design and implementation of IT services, processes, and policies.

Requirements

Minimum Education and Certifications: *If a degree is required, a copy of a candidate's transcript showing proof must be sent to your recruiter following the interview *

  • Four years of experience in computer science, Computer Networking, Management Information Systems, or other IT focused degrees.
  • Industry recognized certifications pertinent to an IT Network Engineer I such as CompTIA Net+, CCNA, CNWA, CCNP

Minimum Qualifications: If a driver's license is required, a copy must be sent to your recruiter following the interview.

  • Two to four years of experience in a role such as IT Network Engineer I, IT Specialist, or Network Analyst. Relevant certifications, or training may be substituted for a portion of the required experience based on other qualifying factors. Working knowledge of enterprise wired and wireless networking environments. Strong understanding of Ethernet networking, TCP/IP, VLAN-based network segmentation, and basic firewall concepts. Experience supporting network-connected security, building, or OT systems (e.g., cameras, access control, intercom, BAS, paging). Familiarity with network documentation, diagrams, ticketing systems, and change or configuration management processes. Ability to work effectively in time-sensitive, mission-critical, and people-focused environments.
  • Valid and unrestricted Driver's license
  • Industry recognized certifications pertinent to an IT Network Engineer I such as CompTIA Net+, CCNA, CNWA, CCNP
  • One year or more of experience supporting or maintaining operational technology (OT) or building systems.
  • Experience working in structured or regulated environments.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non- technical stakeholders

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.

Benefits & conditions

Compensation: $78,000.00 annually. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications and experience.
