Job description
The Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that transform raw data into meaningful insights. This role partners with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to deliver interactive dashboards, reports, and data models that support data-driven decision-making across the organization., * Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models aligned with business requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into technical BI solutions.
- Build efficient data models using Power BI, DAX, and Power Query (M).
- Connect, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL databases, data warehouses APIs, Excel, cloud platforms).
- Optimize report performance, data refresh schedules, and model efficiency.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and governance across BI solutions.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and follow best practices for access control.
- Collaborate with data engineers on data pipelines, data quality, and warehouse design.
- Provide documentation, training, and support to end users.
- Stay current with Power BI features, industry trends, and BI best practices.
Requirements

Strong understanding of business intelligence concepts, data warehousing, and analytics.

In-depth knowledge of Power BI architecture, including datasets, reports, dashboards, and workspaces.

Solid understanding of relational databases, star/snowflake schemas, and data modeling principles.

Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, SnowFlake or similar).
Skills:
- Power BI development skills.
- Proficiency in DAX for measures, calculations, and time intelligence.
- Strong Power Query (M) skills for data transformation.
- SQL querying and performance optimization skills.
- Ability to design intuitive, user-friendly data visualizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in Power BI development or a similar BI/analytics role.
- Hands-on experience building end-to-end BI solutions (data ingestion to visualization).
- Experience working with large datasets and complex data models.
- Experience with data warehouses and ETL/ELT processes.
- Prior experience in an enterprise or multi-department environment is preferred.
- Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300) is a plus.
