Job description

  • Plan, test, schedule, and deploy patches, updates, service packs, upgrades, and hotfixes
  • Manage structured patch cycles, including monthly, emergency, and zero-day response cycles
  • Perform pre-deployment testing and post-implementation testing and validation
  • Maintain patch compliance reporting and remediation tracking
  • Apply updates across Linux and Windows server and desktop environments
  • Configure and administer WSUS
  • Deploy firmware updates and patches for Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as Juniper firewalls
  • Perform configuration backups and validation before making changes
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation and security audits
  • Manage patching and lifecycle updates for VMware environments
  • Maintain and upgrade VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter
  • Ensure VM availability during maintenance cycles
  • Deliver on-site patching and maintenance at customer locations
  • Provide clear communication before, during, and after maintenance windows
  • Produce change documentation and implementation reports

Requirements

  • Strong technical capability in enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Professional approach when working within client environments
  • Experience with patch management, updates, upgrades, patches, and hotfixes
  • Knowledge of Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, and Red Hat
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 environments
  • Ability to configure and administer WSUS
  • Experience with Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco firewalls, and Juniper firewalls
  • Experience with VMware environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter
  • Understanding of ITIL change control processes
  • Ability to support vulnerability remediation and security audits
