Job description
The Senior IT Technician is responsible for providing advanced technical support and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations. This role serves as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, supports enterprise hardware and software, manages user access, and assists with network, server, and cybersecurity initiatives. The Senior IT Technician also mentors junior IT staff, leads small technology projects, and partners with business leaders to improve the employee technology experience., Technical Support

Provide Tier II and Tier III support for hardware, software, network, and system issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop, laptop, mobile device, printer, and peripheral problems.

Serve as the escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by the Help Desk.

Maintain high service levels through timely response and resolution of support tickets.
Infrastructure Administration

Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations, servers, and enterprise applications.

Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

Manage user accounts, security groups, permissions, and access controls.

Support virtualization, backup systems, file servers, and storage solutions.

Assist with network equipment including switches, wireless access points, VPNs, and firewalls.
Cybersecurity & Compliance

Implement and monitor cybersecurity best practices.

Assist with endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, MFA, and identity management.

Monitor system health and security alerts.

Support disaster recovery planning and backup validation.

Ensure compliance with company IT policies and regulatory requirements.
Project Management

Lead or participate in IT infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and technology rollouts.

Coordinate hardware refresh initiatives and software deployments.

Document system configurations, procedures, and technical standards.

Recommend technology improvements that enhance productivity and security.
Asset & Vendor Management

Maintain IT asset inventory, lifecycle management, and equipment standards.

Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, software licensing, warranty support, and maintenance.
Requirements

Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
-
5 years of progressive IT support experience.

Experience supporting a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.

Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.

Experience supporting Windows operating systems, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.
