Job description
A growing technology and building systems integrator is seeking a Building Solutions Architect to support the design and delivery of integrated smart building solutions. This customer-facing technical role works closely with business development teams and engineering specialists to develop tailored solutions that improve building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant experience.
The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with a consultative approach, helping customers identify the right mix of building technologies while ensuring proposed solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with project requirements., * Partner with sales and business development teams during customer engagements to understand project goals and technical requirements
- Design integrated smart building solutions incorporating building automation, energy management, lighting controls, access control, security systems, and existing infrastructure
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process, providing guidance on smart building technologies and industry best practices
- Work collaboratively with engineering and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions can be successfully implemented
- Assist with technical proposals, presentations, scope development, and budget estimates
- Develop solution architectures that balance customer objectives, operational requirements, and long-term scalability
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry standards, and trends within intelligent buildings and connected facilities
- Support technical discussions with consultants, contractors, end users, and project stakeholders throughout the pre-sales process
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), smart buildings, or connected building technologies
- Experience developing technical solutions for commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or other large-scale facilities
- Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, lighting systems, security integration, energy management, and common building communication protocols
- Experience with enterprise BMS platforms, IoT technologies, or cloud-based building management solutions is advantageous
- Ability to translate customer requirements into practical, technically sound solution designs
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a consultative, pre-sales environment, * Professional certifications such as LEED, PMP, or other relevant industry credentials are beneficial
- Knowledge of software integration, web services, systems architecture, or enterprise IT environments is an advantage
- Familiarity with technologies such as Java, HTML, Unix/Linux environments, or systems integration is desirable but not essential
