Job description

Experteer Overview As a Principal Software Engineer on the Engine DataModel team, you own the foundational engine components that power the Roblox platform. You will build core data structures and the Luau API bindings, and drive performance across desktop, mobile, and console. You'll take ownership end-to-end on scalable projects and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver universal solutions. This role offers the chance to shape the DataModel and engine tooling at a company aiming to connect a billion people with optimistic, civil experiences. Compensation / Benefits * Develop engine code optimized for user-created games across devices * Build core systems and data structures used by the Roblox engine * Take ownership of projects from inception to delivery * Ensure performance and reliability across desktop, mobile, and console clients * Collaborate with other teams to find universal, scalable solutions * Contribute to DataModel serialization and related tooling Tasks * Experience in systems-level C++ programming * Experience with game engine internals * Ability to build and maintain high-performance systems * Curiosity to stay current with technology developments * Interest in CPU-level concepts (smart pointers, templates, virtual functions, memory management) Key requirements * equity compensation * benefits as described on this page * hybrid work model (3 days in-office) * onsite Tue-Thu; optional Mon/Fri * paid time off and holidays (as applicable)
