Job description

To assist the Director of Assessment & Accountability of Student Learning in fulfilling the goals of data processing for the Rapides Parish School System. Systems analysis, design, development, implementation and integration of in-house and vendor-supplied information systems to best meet the information needs of the district. Validate and verify LDOE reporting accuracy to maximize district funding through MFP formula and economically disadvantaged students across the district., 1. To ensure proper project documentation and establish controls to assure the currency, completeness and accuracy of all program changes and development.

  1. To select appropriate hardware and software tools to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of district information systems and applications
  2. To focus on the needs of the district and maintain the highest quality standards for assigned systems, including platform, interface, functionality, and performance
  3. To integrate tools and applications into the Student Information System as appropriate
  4. To develop a professional growth plan that enhances professional and technical skills and establish and execute a self-evaluation plan
  5. To accept assignments in the form of goals and develop objectives to achieve those goals
  6. To effectively and efficiently direct and manage the day-to-day operation of data processing throughout the system.
  7. To regularly review and analyze current systems for possible improvements and make recommendations for system revision or new implementation as necessary
  8. To coordinate with administrative and technical staff concerning system development and the implementation of new systems
  9. To ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data
  10. To provide for the technical assistance and training for all appropriate users on new, existing and modified systems
  11. To prepare and submit in a timely manner all required reports, data transmissions, and forms as requested and required by the administration and the LDOE.
  12. To maintain an up-to-date inventory of all hardware, software and computer stock and maintain adequate supplies for the efficient and effective operation of the Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics (AAA) department
  13. To exhibit professional ethics
  14. To carry out responsibilities as designated by the Rapides Parish School Board
  15. To perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Assessment & Accountability of Student Learning, the Assistant Superintendents and the Superintendent

Assistant Superintendents, Directors, Supervisors, Coordinators, and Facilitators shall be expected to perform the following duties, along with the completion of corresponding documents, forms, and reports (if applicable):

  1. Instructional Components
  • Fulfill duties traditionally expected of those in supervisory positions
  • Collaborate with those providing and overseeing school-based instruction as well as professionals providing ancillary services
  • Review, draft, study, recommend, and implement policies, curriculum, and plans to improve the quality of instruction
  • Conduct school/class walk-throughs
  • Instructional Leadership Team meeting
  1. Supervision
  • Supervision of Principals, Assistant Principals, and/or others reporting to employee for whose supervision employee is responsible
  • Complete and/or assist in the preparation/implementation of employee pre- post-observations, evaluations, Intensive Assistance Plans, and other associated tasks and monitoring
  1. Non-instructional Components
  • Attend meetings generally associated with the instruction of students
  • Attend faculty, staff, and department meetings
  • Attend training sessions
  • Attend job fairs and related events
  • Attend IEP/IAP meetings
  • Attend Central Office and Department meetings
  • Attend back-to-school and open-house events
  • Attend graduation
  • Interview, employ, and complete necessary hires
  • Attend PIP, Evaluation, Observation, IAP, and student discipline meetings/hearings
  • Attend school board/committee meetings, upon request
  • Participate in the preparation of necessary disciplinary documents and corresponding disciplinary process

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field or,

  2. Five (5) years of successful experience in programming, systems analysis and design.

  3. Experience with SIS Systems
