Job description
Our client builds multi-domain autonomous platforms operating in unscripted, high-stakes environments. They need a senior Robotics Software Engineer who can bridge the gap between core systems engineering, perception, and autonomous control.
We aren't looking for pure researchers-we need a versatile builder who can own core software architectures, make sense of noisy sensor data, and ship reliable software directly onto real hardware operating on the edge.
What You'll Be Owning
- Core Robotics Architecture: Build low-latency, soft-real-time software foundations capable of handling asynchronous telemetry, dropped packets, and messy real-world inputs.
- Autonomy & Estimation: Implement and tune algorithms for state estimation, sensor fusion, path planning, and track management across disparate platforms.
- Full-Stack Robotics Integration: Move smoothly from writing high-performance C++/Rust/Go to debugging embedded interfaces, running hardware-in-the-loop tests, and supporting live field deployments.
Requirements
- 5+ Years in Robotics Software: Proven experience building soft-real-time software for physical platforms.
- Robotics Middleware: Hands-on experience with ROS2/DDS, ZeroMQ, gRPC, or Protobuf.
- Systems Language Mastery: Deep proficiency in C++, Python, Rust, or Golang.
- Sensor & Hardware Interfaces: Familiarity with common sensors (LiDAR, radar, cameras, IMUs) and embedded protocols (SPI, I2C, serial, microcontrollers).
- Networking & Comms: Solid understanding of UDP/TCP, network configurations, and edge communication constraints.
Bonus Points (Preferred)
- Advanced Autonomy / Tracking: Deep experience in sensor fusion, multi-target tracking (Kalman filters, JPDA, MHT), or multi-agent coordination.
- Edge AI & Hardware Compute: Hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and deploying software/models on NVIDIA Jetson platforms (Orin, Xavier) or similar embedded edge compute architecture.
- Fielded Platforms: Direct experience deploying autonomous systems in air, maritime, space, or complex mobile robotics settings.
- Hands-On Hardware: Comfortable using oscilloscopes/logic analyzers, reading schematics, or troubleshooting hardware directly.
Benefits & conditions
- Base Salary: Up to $250,000 + equity participation.
- Benefits: Top-tier Health, Dental, and Vision coverage + 401(k) match.
- Time Off: Unlimited PTO.
- Workplace Flexibility: Fully remote, with optional travel to participate in live field trials, hardware deployments, and client demos.
