Job description

We're building a real-time healthcare AI platform that helps detect patient deterioration early - already supporting 40,000+ patients daily across post-acute care environments.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you'll build and scale the data infrastructure powering real-time clinical monitoring and machine learning systems. You'll work closely with backend engineers, ML teams, and clinical stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable data flows across the platform.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines ingesting data from EHR systems, medical devices, and hospital systems
  • Build integrations using APIs, webhooks, and CDC-based ingestion patterns
  • Transform and normalize data for downstream systems (MySQL, Snowflake)
  • Build high-throughput, reliable pipelines supporting real-time and batch workloads
  • Work with core healthcare data (ADT events, clinical data, vitals)
  • Partner with internal teams and customers on data onboarding and reliability
  • Design data models and support both application and analytics use cases
  • Optimize performance and scalability across Snowflake and MySQL
  • Deploy and operate data systems in AWS
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production pipelines
  • Support production systems and improve reliability over time
  • Work within a HIPAA-compliant environment with support from the team
  • Collaborate with ML teams on feature pipelines and data quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Backend Engineering
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience building production-grade data pipelines end-to-end
  • Experience with Snowflake and MySQL
  • Experience with APIs, webhooks, or CDC-style ingestion
  • Experience working in AWS or similar cloud environments
  • Experience working with sensitive or regulated data is a plus

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to HL7 or FHIR
  • Experience supporting ML pipelines
  • Experience with real-time or streaming systems

Benefits & conditions

  • 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Bonus and equity
  • Generous PTO
  • Professional development budget
  • Company-paid annual retreat, $160000 - $230000 USD per year
