Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Secret Cyber Networking Engineer to support the implementation, maintenance, and security of enterprise network infrastructure. In this role, the candidate will join a collaborative engineering team focused on network security operations, DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance activities, and the configuration, testing, and deployment of secure network devices. Day-to-day responsibilities include learning DoD security processes, troubleshooting technical issues under senior guidance, reviewing and updating security documentation, assisting with firewalls/routers/switches, supporting network upgrades, monitoring and resolving security incidents, and providing occasional after-hours or mission-critical support to maintain system availability.

Requirements

Current, active DoD 8140 IAT Level II (or higher) certification (Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, etc.) required at time of application and must be maintained

  • Current, active in-scope DoD Secret clearance (with ability to obtain Top Secret)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field + 2 years experience, or Master's + 0 years, or 6 years relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Familiarity with OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, ACLs, and firewalls
  • Understanding of DoD security practices, including STIG compliance and system accreditation
  • Ability to travel to alternate work sites and support occasional after-hours/weekend needs

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • CCNA, JNCIA-SEC, or equivalent networking/security certifications
  • Experience with virtual network technologies (NSX, vSAN, Aria)
  • Network automation experience (Ansible or scripting)
  • Prior experience supporting similar DoD enterprise network environments
