Job description
Experteer Overview As Principal Cloud Data Architect, you will set the target-state architecture for Channels Data Platforms and Analytics, leading modernization from on-prem and legacy systems to cloud-native solutions. You'll shape the multi-year roadmap, ensure security and compliance, and guide large engineering teams through complex migrations including mainframe workloads. You will drive end-to-end architecture for Payment Tracker and enable real-time analytics through modern tech stacks. This role offers opportunities to influence enterprise architecture, governance, and delivery at scale, with a mission-driven, collaborative culture. Compensation / Benefits * Define and communicate solution intent and architectural vision across Business, Data, Application, and Technology domains * Build a multi-year modernization roadmap for Channels Data Platforms (mainframe, Hadoop, ETL, analytics) * Establish operating models, patterns, and guardrails to support evolving capabilities and regulatory expectations * Drive enterprise alignment with Enterprise Architecture, Platform Architecture, Information Governance, Risk, and Product * Lead transformation from Informatica, on-prem databases, Hadoop, and mainframe to cloud-native architectures (Azure, Databricks/Delta, Snowflake) * Define migration paths for mainframe jobs and legacy ledger reporting into scalable architectures * Implement CI/CD for data, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and cost/performance governance * Ensure platform resiliency, scalability, HA/DR, autoscaling, and performance tuning * Provide end-to-end architectural oversight for Payment Tracker (UI, APIs, data models, analytics, dashboards) * Guide design for real-time and near real-time insights and data marts within Payment Tracker * Ensure adherence to NFRs and integrated monitoring/alerting for data and application services * Lead design and code reviews; resolve blockers; ensure compliance with Risk Framework, data privacy, entitlements, and audit expectations * Partner with delivery teams to translate strategy into actionable backlogs and architecture epics * Drive reusable accelerators, templates, migration playbooks, and modernization frameworks * Mentor engineers and elevate engineering excellence across Channels Technology * Own R&D for data and analytics portfolio: evaluate tools, run POCs, benchmark, publish records, set adoption standards Tasks * 12+ years in data/software engineering * 8+ years designing enterprise data platforms or large distributed architectures * Cloud modernization experience (Azure preferred) including Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka/Event Hubs * Experience modernizing legacy systems (Informatica ETL, Hadoop, mainframe workloads) * Deep expertise in non-functional requirements: resiliency, security, performance, observability * Strong SQL and Python (Scala or Java a plus) * Proven ability to influence senior leaders and deliver in regulated environments * Strong communication skills for executive, business, and technical audiences * Experience with microservices, containers (Kubernetes/OpenShift), API gateways, and integration patterns * Representative tools/technologies: Azure ADLS Gen2, Event Hubs, Key Vault; Databricks; Snowflake; Informatica; Kafka; Mainframe/Z Series; Oracle/Postgres; Python; SQL; Java/Scala; Git; Azure DevOps/Jenkins; Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift; Collibra; AppDynamics/Splunk/Grafana Key requirements * in-office culture with flexible work arrangements * focus on inclusion and a supportive workplace * wellness support (physical, emotional, financial)
