Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to bridge business strategy and technology, designing scalable solutions that power exceptional digital customer experiences. This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role focused on translating business needs into technical capabilities, architectural designs, and implementation roadmaps across web, mobile, marketing technology, and data platforms.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in digital products and marketing technology (MarTech), understands how modern customer engagement ecosystems are built, and can confidently communicate with executives, product leaders, and engineering teams alike. This is an architecture-first position with minimal hands-on coding, requiring someone who can evaluate business problems objectively and recommend the right technologies and architectural patterns-not simply default to a preferred language or framework.

Startup experience is a plus, but candidates should also have experience operating within enterprise-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership, product management, marketing, and engineering teams to understand strategic business initiatives and translate them into scalable technology solutions.
• Gather and document business and technical requirements, defining solution capabilities that align with organizational goals.
• Create solution architecture diagrams, capability models, technical design documents, and implementation roadmaps.
• Design enterprise-scale solutions spanning web, mobile, customer data platforms, APIs, integrations, and marketing technologies.
• Architect customer engagement solutions including personalized experiences, customer journey orchestration, retention initiatives, email marketing, SMS messaging, and omnichannel digital experiences.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to guide implementation while ensuring architectural consistency and long-term scalability.
• Work across multiple technology domains including digital platforms, mobile applications, data services, integrations, and cloud-based systems.
• Evaluate technologies and architectural approaches based on business needs, balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and cost.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle while influencing architectural standards and best practices.
• Communicate architectural decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.

• 7+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Architecture, or similar strategic technology roles.
• Strong background designing digital customer experiences within marketing technology (MarTech) or customer engagement platforms.
• Experience architecting solutions involving:
• Customer experience journeys
• Personalization
• Customer retention initiatives
• Email and SMS marketing platforms
• Web and mobile applications
• Customer data and analytics platforms
• Experience working across multiple programming languages and technology stacks, with a broad architectural mindset rather than expertise limited to a single platform.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript ecosystems and modern web technologies; additional experience with other programming languages is highly valued.
• Experience creating architecture documentation including solution designs, capability models, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps.
• Strong enterprise architecture experience with complex, distributed systems and integrations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage executive leadership, business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering organizations.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup or high-growth company experience.
• Experience serving as a Chief Architect, CTO, Principal Architect, or Lead Solutions Architect within a growing organization.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with modern API architecture, microservices, event-driven systems, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, or digital experience platforms.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar methodologies.
