Test Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and deploy scalable test systems for high-volume energy storage manufacturing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust data flow and safe, efficient production. You will own test software and hardware integration across MES, databases, and automation platforms, shaping next-generation production capabilities. Expect hands-on work on the factory floor, root-cause investigations, and documentation to enable scalable, repeatable testing. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity in Pittsburgh with a focus on advancing battery manufacturing technologies. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop and maintain scalable manufacturing test software with user-friendly GUIs and workflows for cell-, module-, and pack-level production * Develop, deploy, validate production test equipment, fixtures, PLCs, and instrumentation architectures for new products and changes * Integrate test software/hardware with MES, databases, factory automation, and traceability systems * Collaborate with EHS to design safe test systems for high-voltage environments * Co-own PFMEAs and control plans related to manufacturing test systems * Implement automated data collection, validation, and reporting with strict revision control * Lead root-cause investigations and resolve hardware, software, and process failures * Create technical documentation and support training on test systems * Support factory launches, ramp activities, and scaling of test solutions * Drive evolution of test architectures, software frameworks, and standard processes Tasks * 5+ years automating test systems in manufacturing or industrial settings * Proficiency in LabVIEW, Python, C#, C++, Go or similar for test automation * Experience establishing scalable test architectures and standards * Hands-on experience integrating instrumentation and data acquisition in production * Experience with CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, UART, SPI, I2C, Protobuf or similar protocols * Electrical/embedded systems knowledge; firmware validation and hardware-software integration * Ability to own end-to-end test systems from concept to deployment and support * Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers * Experience integrating test systems with MES, databases or enterprise software * BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field * Experience scaling test systems from prototype to high-volume production * Experience with embedded Linux, microcontrollers, battery management systems Key requirements * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) retirement plan * Life Insurance * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account * Transportation benefits
