Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will architect and drive the development of a mission-critical Very Low Frequency (VLF) solution for defense applications. You'll collaborate with software, systems, and hardware teams to align software on embedded platforms with hardware constraints, while enhancing cyber security, reliability, and performance. You will mentor teams, champion MBSE practices, and lead architecture decisions in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment. This role offers impact across product and system design, with opportunities to grow into leadership tracks. Compensation / Benefits * Lead cross-functional development with software, systems, and hardware engineers to design and implement the VLF transmitter control/monitoring solution * Define and optimize software and simulation architectures across embedded platforms * Serve as technical lead to translate requirements into realizable software solutions for hardware constraints * Mentor teams on architectural best practices, modularity, and real-time performance tradeoffs * Identify optimization opportunities and participate in architecture-level decisions with software SMEs * Create software requirements and UML diagrams within MBSE tools * Develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++ for RTOS environments * Support integration/verification using automated tests (gtest, python, JSON) * Enhance simulations to reflect new hardware capabilities * Promote secure coding practices and align with STIGs; support customer CD RLs and Agile cadence * Provide input on future scope and process improvements Tasks * Active Secret U.S. government security clearance * Extensive RTOS experience with embedded software (development, debugging, and optimization) * MBSE experience, system decomposition, and interface control across disciplines * Software lifecycle processes, configuration control, and change management in high-integrity environments * Typically a STEM degree with substantial relevant experience or an advanced degree with fewer years * Ability to read electrical schematics and understand hardware interfaces * Experience with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization in complex environments Key requirements * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Three weeks of vacation * 401(k) plan with employer matching * Tuition reimbursement * Student Loan Repayment Program * Life insurance and disability coverage
