Job description
Insight Global is seeking a Data Engineer / Developer to support a global pharmaceutical client within their External Development and Manufacturing Solutions (EDMS) organization. This individual will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise data solutions that support advanced analytics, AI/ML initiatives, and business intelligence across drug development, clinical operations, manufacturing, and supply chain functions., The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Snowflake, ETL/ELT development, data modeling, and data warehouse architecture. This role requires a hands-on engineer who can develop scalable, governed data solutions while partnering with data scientists, business stakeholders, and technical teams to enable high-quality, AI-ready data assets., Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouses and datamarts within the Snowflake platform.
- Build scalable dimensional data models, including star and snowflake schemas, to support reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases.
- Develop and optimize data views, semantic layers, and data products for business intelligence and machine learning consumption.
- Create, maintain, and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from multiple enterprise source systems.
- Implement data integration strategies including incremental loads, change data capture (CDC), and slowly changing dimensions (SCD).
- Partner with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate analytical and AI requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Support data harmonization and entity resolution efforts across multiple pharmaceutical and operational data sources.
- Establish and maintain data quality standards, validation rules, and governance practices.
- Collaborate with cloud infrastructure, security, and architecture teams to ensure data platform scalability, security, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot data issues, optimize performance, and support the ongoing enhancement of enterprise data assets.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or related field required
- 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with a strong focus on datamart development and ETL pipeline delivery
- 2+ years of production-level Snowflake experience in an enterprise environment
- Demonstrated experience building AI/ML-ready data pipelines and feature engineering frameworks
- Proven track record delivering data solutions that span multiple heterogeneous source systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Master's degree in Data Science, Computational Biology, or related discipline preferred
- Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification
- Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer
- dbt Analytics Engineering Certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
