Experteer Overview In this role you will contribute to the Embedded Software Engineering team within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, developing and maintaining software and firmware for mission-critical systems. You will apply standards and participate in the full software development life cycle, collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams. The position supports an enterprise-wide digital transformation, emphasizing automation, agility, and continuous learning. You will work on complex, defense-grade systems with a clear path to impact the warfighter and national security. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, operate, and maintain software and firmware components for engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements * Apply standards, processes, and tools across the software life cycle to support product development * Interface with customers, suppliers, and application users as part of the development process * Participate in requirements, design, coding, testing, and integration activities across the SDLC * Collaborate in a team-driven, cross-functional environment with a focus on automation and continuous improvement Tasks * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar engineering discipline with 12+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 10+ years of experience * Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming in C++ * Familiarity with software architecture and design patterns * Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Batch) * Experience developing embedded software on Linux or VxWorks * Knowledge of software development methodologies (Waterfall and/or Agile) * Experience with version control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, ClearCase) and Agile planning tools (Rally, Jira) * US Citizenship * Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance Key requirements * health insurance * life and disability insurance * savings plan * Company paid holidays * paid time off (PTO) * bonus opportunity
