Job description

A fast-growing startup is building the next generation of messaging and customer engagement software for the restaurant industry. The platform enables restaurants to communicate with customers through SMS, automate campaigns, manage conversations, and improve customer retention.

The engineering team is small, fast-moving, and highly collaborative. Every engineer contributes directly to product direction and ships production code regularly.

The company is seeking a motivated junior software engineer eager to learn Rust while building production software. Strong mentorship will be available, but candidates should enjoy solving difficult problems independently and moving quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Develop backend services using Rust
  • Build and maintain frontend applications using Next.js and TypeScript
  • Develop REST APIs and backend integrations
  • Work with AWS infrastructure and cloud services
  • Debug production issues and improve application performance
  • Collaborate closely with founders and senior engineers
  • Participate in product planning and feature discussions
  • Write clean, maintainable production code
  • Learn new technologies quickly and contribute across the stack, * Small engineering team

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of professional software development experience
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience with React or Next.js
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs
  • Basic understanding of SQL databases
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Willingness to learn Rust in a production environment
  • Comfortable working in a startup where priorities change quickly
