Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will maintain and optimize enterprise database platforms, ensuring availability, recoverability, and performance. You will collaborate with developers, DBAs, and IT leadership to improve automation and reliability across Oracle, SQL Server, and AWS-based databases. You'll handle backups, upgrades, and on-call support while contributing to large-scale projects and production readiness. This position offers the chance to influence production-grade database practices and mentor teams in best practices. Compensation / Benefits * Ensure backup, recovery, security, availability, maintenance and performance of enterprise database technology * Create and maintain backup and recovery jobs * Resolve database issues and determine root cause * Administer, install, upgrade, configure, and apply patches to enterprise databases * Provide on-call support on a rotational basis * Support developer requests during business hours on a rotational basis * Recommend database technology features to application developers * Assist with testing and evaluating IT vendor products * Review application designs for production acceptance * Provide technical input in large-scale projects Tasks * Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience * Minimum of five years DBA experience with Oracle, SQL Server or AWS (Postgres, DynamoDB) * Certification in Oracle, SQL Server, or AWS (preferred but not required) * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Strong relationship management, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills * Broad knowledge of the financial services industry * Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively * Attention to detail under tight time constraints * Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux, virtualization, networking, directory services, backup and DR testing, job scheduling (Control-M), ITIL/ServiceNow Key requirements *
