Job description
Our client is an established engineering organisation developing innovative software solutions for complex, safety-critical systems. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Software Technical Lead to drive the delivery of advanced software projects and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams., * Lead the software delivery of complex engineering projects.
- Define software architectures for integrated systems.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Translate system requirements into software solutions.
- Ensure software meets quality, safety and performance standards.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineering teams.
- Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
- Support project planning, effort estimation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
You will be an experienced software engineer with strong technical leadership skills and a background delivering complex software solutions., * Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Significant experience in a senior software engineering or technical leadership role.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and modern development practices.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to define system and software requirements.
- Knowledge of software quality, safety principles and secure software development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Technical Experience
Experience with several of the following technologies is desirable:
- C++
- Python
- JavaScript
- HTML, CSS, XML and JSON
- Windows and Linux development
- Backend technologies (Node.js, Django or similar)
- Docker and containerisation
- TCP/IP networking and WebSockets
- SQL and database technologies
- Software debugging and diagnostic tools
- Cyber security principles
Desirable
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
- Real-time or distributed systems
- Control or automation software
- Qt or .NET GUI development
- Messaging frameworks (e.g. RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
- REST APIs and web services
- Video or media streaming technologies
