Job description

The Systems Engineer is responsible for engineering, optimizing, and securing the firm's core enterprise infrastructure. This role drives the installation, performance tuning, management, and monitoring of all Windows Server environments, Microsoft Active Directory, and associated cloud-hybrid subsystems., * Monitors and maintains servers and possibly storage systems

  • Analyzes and troubleshoots system issues
  • Performs and coordinates server replacements and server builds
  • Monitors, manages and maintains Active Directory
  • Assists with, and may lead, setting assigned technology strategies of the firm
  • Acts as a technical resource for the Project Management Office
  • Completes and upgrades system documentation
  • Some virtualization experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware
  • Basic networking, switching, and routing experience (firewall skills a plus)
  • Microsoft Suite of products to include but not limited to Office 365, Azure, Windows Server, and related cloud technologies
  • Ability to work after standard business hours and travel (up to 25%)
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

  • High School diploma / GED, required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, preferred, * Three (3) or more years of hands-on experience administering and managing large-scale server environments (50+ endpoints), required Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (System Center), Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) and/or Active Directory, preferred
  • One (1) or more years of experience with leading projects, preferred
  • Prior experience with on premise (SAN/NAS) and virtual storage (VMware ESXi), preferred

License/Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent legacy MCSA/MCSE credentials preferred.

Software:

  • Advanced proficiency in managing modern Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and core network services (DNS, DHCP), required
  • Strong administrative experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere virtualization platforms, preferred
  • Practical experience with enterprise SAN/NAS storage arrays and network fabrics, preferred
  • Foundational or administrative knowledge of Linux systems (RedHat), preferred
  • Familiarity with hardware management tools, specifically Cisco Intersight, preferred, * Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details
  • Capable of successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Capable of working well under pressure while dealing with unexpected problems in a professional manner
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to interact and build consensus among people
