Job description
A Temporary Software Engineer / API Developer is needed to support the development and integration of a data processing platform. The role focuses on delivering production-ready RESTful APIs and creating SDLC-compliant documentation to enable integration with enterprise IT systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years relevant industry experience.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Git source code management (branching and merge strategies)
- Designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs
- Developing and supporting production software applications
- Relational databases and SQL
- Integrating applications with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks)
- Familiarity with software development and deployment environments, including cloud technologies such as AWS
Documentation & Quality
- Experience authoring SDLC-compliant documentation
- Understanding of software testing methodologies, validation practices, and deployment processes
- Ability to create clear technical and user-facing documentation
Collaboration & Communication
- Experience working within cross-functional teams
- Ability to collaborate with business, scientific, and IT stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project-tracking skills using tools such as JIRA and Confluence, * Experience supporting scientific, research, or data-driven applications
- Familiarity with data processing workflows and enterprise application integration
- Experience working within regulated/compliance-sensitive environments
- Exposure to biologics, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences organizations
