Medior Test Specialist

We're seeking a Medior Test Specialist (Freelance) to join our client's multidisciplinary test team, driving the evolution of test automation within complex enterprise environments. This is a freelance opportunity for 12 months, based in Hasselt, Belgium. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping sustainable, scalable test automation architecture, leveraging Tricentis Tosca to elevate software quality and reliability. Your expertise will directly impact the delivery of robust, future-ready solutions. Why This Role Matters

The stakes are high - your leadership will drive a shift-left testing culture and set new standards for excellence. What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the definition and implementation of test automation strategies, with a focus on Tricentis Tosca.
• Design and maintain a sustainable, scalable test automation architecture for enterprise projects.
• Advise on the selection and prioritization of test scenarios for automation.
• Integrate test automation seamlessly within the software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar).
• Champion shift-left testing principles and embed quality at every stage of development.
• Coach and mentor development teams, transferring knowledge and best practices in test automation.
• Define and enforce Tosca governance, automation standards, and quality guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with business, IT, vendors, and the broader test organization to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the execution and coordination of test activities across functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, release validation, and API testing.

• Demonstrable experience as a Test Specialist (Medior level).
• Hands-on expertise with Tricentis Tosca in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with Tosca Server and Commander architecture, configuration, and management.
• Strong background in formal test methods and techniques.
• Experience defining and implementing Tosca governance, automation standards, and quality guidelines.
• Integration of Tricentis Tosca within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines or comparable DevOps platforms.
• Tricentis Tosca certifications (AS1, AS2, AE1, TDS1, TDS2).

Language Proficiency

• Dutch at European CEFR level C2 (required).

Other Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a tester in Agile/Scrum projects.
• Experience writing test scenarios.
• Excellent communication skills and a hands-on, proactive mentality (to be demonstrated during interview).
