Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you lead the design and delivery of Python-based test automation, virtualization platforms, and productivity tools for ASP capital equipment software. You'll own automation architectures that reduce hardware dependency and speed verification in a regulated medical device context. You collaborate across software, V&V, systems engineering, architecture, and quality to boost reliability and release readiness. The role offers influence over architecture and engineering practices in a highly impactful domain. Compensation / Benefits * Lead design and continuous improvement of Python-based test automation frameworks and virtualization platforms * Own technical solutions for software-in-the-loop, simulation, emulation, and virtual device environments * Translate system and verification needs into robust automation architecture and reusable frameworks * Develop diagnostics, data acquisition, test execution, log analysis, and troubleshooting tools for ASP software * Integrate automation/virtualization into Linux development environments, CI/CD, and modern workflows * Collaborate with Software Development, V&V, Systems Engineering, Architecture, Quality, and DevSecOps to improve efficiency and release readiness * Provide technical guidance, code reviews, design inputs, and mentoring to engineers * Drive resolution of complex issues, identify risks, and propose pragmatic solutions aligned with regulatory priorities * Contribute to documentation, verification strategy, and process compliance for regulated medical device software Tasks * 8+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on development and leadership * Proven experience designing and developing Python-based automation frameworks, engineering tools, or test infrastructure * Experience in Linux-based development environments, debugging, scripting, build systems, source control, CI/CD * Experience with virtualization, simulation, emulation, software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, or virtual platform development * Working knowledge of embedded Linux, device communication, hardware-software integration, debugging complex systems * Experience in regulated or safety-critical product development; medical device software experience desirable * Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical workstreams, and influencing cross-functional teams Key requirements * bonus or equity
