Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will develop and maintain secure, scalable web applications and services on a JavaScript/TypeScript stack to support university research. You will work with cross-functional teams to design cloud-native solutions, ensure security and observability, and drive automation and quality across the SDLC. The position integrates with ORIS and supports 24/7 research operations. You will shape technical designs and provide expert consultation while advancing research administration capabilities. Compensation / Benefits * Deliver secure, scalable JavaScript/TypeScript web apps, APIs, and microservices within Agile projects * Design and evolve cloud-based apps and infrastructure using CI/CD, automation, and managed services * Create/update technical designs and plans addressing security, compliance, disaster recovery, and observability * Elevate engineering quality via clean code, automated tests, PR reviews, and architecture discussions * Collaborate across ORIS/UW teams, communicating concepts, risks, and progress to stakeholders * Triage and resolve issues across applications, cloud services, and databases for 24/7 availability * Maintain system health with secure, observable, cost-effective operations throughout the SDLC * Improve system quality and efficiency through automation and modern engineering practices * Engage in continuous learning and develop familiarity with research administration in a university setting * Participate in planning, change management, and broader organizational responsibilities Tasks * Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 5+ years of enterprise software experience or 8+ years of equivalent experience * 5 years full-stack experience with TypeScript, Angular, Node.js, PHP, and WordPress * 5 years front-end tech (CSS3, HTML5, HTTP) for responsive web apps * 5 years developing RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger * 5 years working with relational DBs (MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing efficient queries * 3 years deploying cloud-native apps on AWS with IaC (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation) and services (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, etc.) * 3 years experience with web servers/containers (Apache, Nginx, Docker) * 1 year experience applying enterprise GenAI/LLMs across the SDLC * Experience with automated UI/API testing (Cypress, Postman) and performance profiling * Experience with GitHub or Bitbucket for source control and CI/CD pipelines * Strong observability, debugging, and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently in agile/DevSecOps teams with ownership and clear communication * Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills * Experience in change control and PR review processes Key requirements *
