Adela Georgescu builds full-stack software for the automotive industry at BMW Techworks. Based in Romania, she brings a cross-regional perspective to engineering culture after studying and working in Austria.
Her research investigates why women leave computer science and what practical support mechanisms help them stay. She focuses on how Eastern Europe normalizes women in tech, offering concrete lessons for other regions on building sustainable engineering teams.
Before joining BMW, she worked on privacy-friendly authentication at the Austrian Institute of Technology and built applications for the World Food Programme. She has also volunteered at the WeAreDevelopers Congress.
