Christoph Lohrmann builds software for photonic processors at Q.ANT, focusing on architectures that compute natively with light. His daily work involves mapping AI workloads to energy-efficient accelerators and defining how developers actually write code for them.
Before his move into photonic computing, he researched computational physics. During his time at the University of Stuttgart, he studied self-propelled microscopic agents and applied reinforcement learning to micro-robotics.
Looking past the physical limits of traditional digital hardware, he teaches engineers how to stringently integrate analog co-processors into everyday x86 systems.
