Colleen Lake builds communities and developer resources at GitLab. Her background spans embedded systems and software development, including past collaborative work with NASA and a feature on Gimlet Media’s Startup podcast.
She focuses on shaping high-trust technical communities in an algorithmic age. Her conference sessions explore the dead internet theory, breaking down why genuine human connection is the only clear way to save forums from becoming bot-driven ghost towns.
When she isn’t tinkering with robots or writing code, Colleen is usually getting lost in the woods.
