Gaurav Gahlot builds low-level systems as a Staff Software Engineer at IONOS Cloud. He focuses heavily on Rust and the cloud-native ecosystem, and helps maintain the CNCF’s Akri project.
Much of his recent work centers on WebAssembly internals. In his presentations, he breaks down the mechanics of VM design, often using Whisk—a custom, minimal WASM runtime he built from scratch—to explain module parsing, memory handling, and instruction execution.
