Laura Tacho measures how engineering organizations work. As a Senior Principal Technologist at AWS, she focuses on developer experience and AI-native development. She has spent 15 years building tools for developers, including early projects in the Docker ecosystem, and previously served as CTO of DX.
She co-authored the Core 4 Framework of Developer Productivity, a measurement model adopted by companies like Netflix and Airbnb. Her talks explore why traditional productivity metrics fail for AI tools, showing how simple token counts miss the true value of agentic systems. In 2025, she was named Austrian Innovator of the Year.
