Matic Petrič builds tools that make quantum programming usable for developers. At Fraunhofer FOKUS, he works on Eclipse Qrisp, an open-source framework that replaces low-level gate assembly with pythonic abstractions.
His research focuses on hybrid quantum-classical algorithms. He pushes quantum software past circuit-level noise, making constructs like quantum variables and matrix arithmetic accessible to everyday engineers. Before this, he tackled real-time traffic optimization via quantum annealing at T-Labs.
Matic studied theoretical physics at the University of Ljubljana. Outside the lab, he is a known Pink Floyd fan who sneaks their lyrics and references into his technical talks.
