Mingshen Sun leads research and engineering for trusted computing at TikTok’s Privacy Innovation Lab. He builds systems that keep user data secure without sacrificing the ability to run complex algorithms at scale.
His recent work focuses on deploying privacy-enhancing technologies across massive microservice architectures and designing verifiable, private environments for running large language models. Before his current role, he initiated the Apache Teaclave open-source project and earned his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also advises the Confidential Computing Consortium.
