Niels Tanis researches security for Veracode’s binary static analysis service. Coming from a background in .NET development and pentesting, he spends his time breaking, defending, and building applications as a Microsoft MVP.
His work centers on modern application defense and the open-source supply chain. He teaches developers how to evaluate third-party dependencies using the OpenSSF Scorecard to catch dangerous workflows and vulnerabilities early.
Niels lives in a small village just outside Amersfoort, Netherlands, with his wife and two children.
