Raphael De Lio builds and teaches at Redis, focusing on developer advocacy and distributed systems. He spends most of his time in Java and Kotlin, helping developers solve database problems faster.

Recently, he has been exploring the mechanics of AI models. His talk on context engines breaks down why production agents fail when data is fragmented or stale, arguing that context quality matters just as much as the model itself.

Originally from Brazil, he spent six years in Portugal before moving to the Netherlands, where he organizes the Dutch Kotlin User Group.
