Wei Hu leads database research and development at Oracle, focusing on distributed SQL, blockchain, and microservices architecture. He spends his time tackling the physical limits of data management—exploring how applications can handle network latency and maintain strong consistency when real-world systems inevitably fail.
Since joining Oracle in 1998, Wei has secured over 40 patents and authored multiple books on database technology. He is a double graduate of MIT, holding both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
