Wolfgang Oels

Wolfgang Oels runs operations at Ecosia, Europe’s largest search engine. He also directs European Search Perspective, where he works on building a sovereign European web index.

He studied engineering and business, spending time at McKinsey before taking leadership roles in the US and German solar industries. His focus remains on green technology—particularly looking at AI’s environmental footprint and scaling sustainable infrastructure.
