Job description

Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for a talented and experienced Software Application Developer to join our multicultural team.

In this role, you will provide expert guidance and recommendations to internal teams and customers on the effective use and integration of Danfoss electronic products. You will review customer setups, advise on configurations and best practices, and support teams in optimizing refrigeration and HVAC applications, ensuring software quality, modularity, and adherence to Danfoss standards.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Software Application Developer, you will provide expert guidance to help internal teams and customers effectively use and integrate Danfoss electronic products. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Advising customers and internal teams on troubleshooting technical issues, providing recommendations and guidance while ensuring proper documentation for traceability.
  • Guiding customers on software and firmware updates, recommending best practices for compatibility, installation, and integration with existing systems.
  • Reviewing customer application setups and recommending adjustments to software modules, configurations, and integrations to align with Danfoss standards.
  • Providing recommendations on system design, product selection, parameter settings, and best practices to optimize refrigeration and HVAC application performance.
  • Observing refrigeration and HVAC unit start-ups and testing, identifying potential issues, and advising customers on actions to improve system and software performance.
  • Conducting root cause analysis of recurring technical issues and recommending solutions, escalating unresolved challenges to engineering teams when necessary.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including sales, marketing, engineering, and field service-to provide guidance on technical challenges and support customer success.

Requirements

  • Educational background in Electronics, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or equivalent; coursework related to HVAC, refrigeration, or industrial cooling is a plus.
  • Proven experience in roles involving the development and delivery of technical guidance and training to internal teams or customers, ideally in structured refrigeration and HVAC application contexts.
  • Excellent knowledge of IEC61131 standard languages and experience with PLC programming.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles, and control systems.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (TCP/IP stack, CANbus, Modbus) and IoT architectures.
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, and Python; Model-Based Design experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly, document processes effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
