About the company
Do you want to develop software that has a social impact? At ARVOO, a growing technology company in Harmelen, we're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive researcher with an affinity for AI to join our software team.
About ARVOO
ARVOO is a leading Dutch technology company that has been developing computer vision products for over 30 years. What makes us unique? Both hardware and software are designed and produced entirely in-house at our Harmelen facility. Our applications range from parking enforcement and access control to Brussels sprout sorting machines and the detection of street litter and defective street lighting. We stand for technologically advanced, high-quality products with excellent customer service. Integrity, teamwork, and respect for colleagues and customers are central to our corporate culture.
Why work at ARVOO?
ARVOO is growing rapidly, and we're always eager to develop new, innovative products that contribute to improving the quality of life in public spaces. To achieve this, we want to explore new AI techniques and applications, and that's why you're in the picture! As an AI researcher, you'll work closely with experienced software and hardware engineers. Therefore, possessing all the technical skills is less important; you'll quickly learn them from your colleagues. We're looking for someone who can independently design and successfully complete research. There's also room for involvement in other aspects of our products, depending on your interests and strengths.
What will you be doing?
As an AI Researcher at ARVOO, you'll begin by exploring the literature and public code repositories to explore potential new functionality for cameras and scanning cars, ultimately transforming it into a new product or an extension of our existing products. We already have some concrete ideas for this, but your own exploratory research into further possibilities is more than welcome. The final phase of the research project into new AI techniques is the implementation of efficient software that will run within the camera/scan car itself. Examples include assessing parking situations more human-like, measuring elements currently only detectable with other sensors instead of cameras, and improving localization using cameras.
