Job description
Excellent opportunity for a Linux Developer to join a forward-thinking engineering team working on cutting-edge data acquisition and embedded Linux projects.
This company is developing a high-performance system for capturing and processing ADC data from an AD4858BBCZ device over SPI, with output to WAV format. You'll be working on Linux kernel driver development, focusing on integrating and customising Industrial I/O (IIO) drivers to support this functionality on Raspberry Pi hardware.
In this role, you'll take ownership of the Linux driver development process - from kernel integration and overlay configuration, through to data capture and validation. You'll have access to detailed hardware schematics, existing prototype code, and the support of experienced engineers familiar with the project.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Linux kernel and driver development, hands-on work with Raspberry Pi or similar embedded systems, and the ability to interface with ADC devices via SPI. Experience with Python scripting for data handling or testing will also be valuable.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an innovative embedded project that blends hardware and software integration in a highly collaborative and flexible environment.
The Role: *Develop and integrate Linux IIO drivers for ADC devices (specifically AD4858BBCZ / AD4851). *Work on Raspberry Pi kernel builds (rpi-6.17.y) and overlays. *Capture 8-channel ADC data via SPI at 44.1kHz and save to WAV format. *Troubleshoot kernel driver visibility and configuration issues. *Collaborate with the team to refine existing prototype code and architecture.
Requirements
*Strong Linux kernel and device driver development experience. *Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi or similar embedded Linux environments. *Knowledge of Industrial I/O drivers (ideally AD4851.c / ad4851 driver). *Understanding of SPI data acquisition and ADC hardware integration. *Python experience for scripting, data analysis, or testing.
