Job description

  • Capture and manage spatial data for grounds maintenance and assets using GIS systems.
  • Create and update digital maps for project support.
  • Work with the GIS team to ensure data is available via web mapping services.
  • Provide GIS advice, solutions, and training.
  • Ensure data compliance with standards like GEMINI, INSPIRE, GDPR, and PSMA.
  • Collaborate with the Leisure team to meet project goals.
  • Develop and implement procedures for data management and analysis.
  • Promote GIS services within the council.
  • Adhere to council policies on data protection, health and safety, and equal opportunities.

Person Specifications

Requirements

Do you have experience in QGIS?, * Degree level education or equivalent.

  • 2 years of experience in a GIS role.
  • Ability to capture and manage data accurately.
  • Understanding of databases and data quality issues.
  • Ability to produce accurate maps using cartographic principles.
  • Working knowledge of GIS software, preferably QGIS or Cadcorp.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in leading and delivering GIS projects.
