Job description
We're seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer who is smart, curious and prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the Public Sector landscape. You'll have the freedoms to be truly innovative to roll up your sleeves, get stuck into the detail of systems, and generally do what it takes to achieve incredible technical solutions to our customer's complex problems.
You will be part of a team developing greenfield systems and services for our clients, using cloud services and on-premise infrastructure components. You'll build and maintain an extensive portfolio of Windows and Linux technologies, related storage, server platforms and integrated management software.
What you'll be doing:
- Overseeing and executing routine configuration modifications within both internal and client-facing systems, ensuring seamless operation
- Enhancing infrastructure stability and efficiency by providing expert 2nd and 3rd line support, contributing to improved system performance and availability
- Supporting virtualisation and understanding how solutions fit into the broader IT ecosystem, including integration of authentication, and directory services with other platforms
- Working closely within our close knit, technical team, including Infrastructure Architects and our Chief Technology Office, on the design and development of greenfield services
- Creating easy-to-understand technical documents that communicate complex information clearly
Requirements
Do you have experience in Virtualization?, * You'll have a sound understanding of Cloud virtualisation technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP etc)
- Experience working with DevOps tools including Jira and Confluence
- Excellent experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
- Demonstrable experiencing of working with Enterprise Systems, Platforms and Networks within both a datacentre environment and a cloud environment
- You champion the principles of Agile, guiding our team towards maintaining a flexible and efficient product release
- Ability to hold a minimum of UK Security Clearance (SC)
- Extra points if you have demonstrable sector knowledge or experience within UK Defence (Army, Air force or Royal Navy).
